👰‍♀️ Say yes to the shoes: Comfortable Wedding Shoes for Women

by Lisa Oberst 26 Jul 2024

I love weddings; there's something so special about celebrating all the love and happiness of someone’s special day. Weddings are for dancing, socializing, and celebrating, so finding the perfect comfortable wedding shoe, whether you’re a guest, bride, or bridesmaid, is essential to enjoying the night.

Hi, if it's your first time here, my name is Lisa, I am the creator of Womads. A few things to know about me: I love shoes, I love dancing, and like I said, I love weddings. So here are some shoes that I love and would definitely say yes to for this wedding season!

Bridal party wedding shoes: for the bride

The countdown is on, and if you’re a bride you probably have a million things on your mind. Sore feet should not be one of them so here are a few bridal shoe options to make your to-do list one item shorter and to keep your feet happy all day and night.

Something Blue

Blue wedding shoes are a unique and classy way to bring in something blue, Womads sandals (USD $95), are a flexible and lightweight sandal, that will be the perfect addition to your reception look!

Tiffany Blue Womads: Our rich turquoise sandal is perfect for staying on budget while adding the perfect enchanting blue to your night. Another bonus is the high-quality leather that will sit beautifully and comfortably on your feet. If you are changing outfits between the ceremony and reception, Womads are easy to slip on, so you’ll be back with your guests in no time.

Blue Cloud Womads: Our soft light blue sandal will make you feel like you’re on a cloud (the name is no joke here!) Womads have a lightly padded insole for comfort so you can make the most of your fairytale night.

Something Old

Ivory wedding shoes: For classic simplicity, Mary Jane pumps like these from Anthropologie ($180 USD) are an easy way to bring in something old. The classic ivory and black leather pumps are a classy choice.

What I love about these is the chunky heel and the strap. The heel will offer support for your knees and the strap will help keep your foot in place while dancing and taking photos.

The high heel option

Comfort is key, especially for 2024 brides. If you prefer high heels check out the Sezanne Hortense High Sandals ($215 USD). I have talked about these shoes before in my best dress shoe blog, they are just that good!

This pair has very intricate detailing that photograph beautifully. The handmade straps are also a great feature as they keep your feet in place so you can dance, take pictures and socialize.

These are an elegant and fancy option for a bridal wedding shoe.

If you plan to have different shoes during the ceremony and reception, the Sezanne Hortense High Sandal and Womads make a great duo.

Bridal party sandals: shoes for the bridesmaids

Bridesmaids are the bride's sidekicks in life, especially on their wedding day. With all of the tasks keeping you busy, you’re going to want comfortable footwear to get you through the long photoshoots, standing, and (of course) dancing!

Womads leather sandals

I have always been a girl's girl, so I developed Womads to be your perfect sidekick. They are the perfect addition to the bridesmaids' party and will help you enjoy every step of the journey.

All Womads colors in a row. From left to right: gold, white and green, black and white, silver, white, fuschia, baby blue, tiffany blue, neon green, yellow, orange, red, caramel, black.

With over ten colors to choose from, the simple but feminine sandal is a great option for bridesmaid footwear.

Here are a few of my favorite colors that just scream 'bridesmaid' to me. Sometimes the shoe chooses you.

This gold wedding shoe has a subtle shimmer and the perfect amount of shine for a statement sandal that is also versatile and dressy.

There is something so put-together about matching shoes to your jewelry. If you're bringing gold hoops, definitely bring along the Golden Nectar Womads.

If you're more of a silver jewelry kind of gal, pick up a pair of the silver Womads.

All Womads have a rubber sole that offers traction so you can drop it low on the dance floor, while the lightly padded insole and shoe flexibility offer full comfort and support natural movement.

The selection of colors is perfect when you want to add a pop of color to a neutral dress. Every girl needs a little black dress and a colorful Womad sandal to compliment it. Our Fuschia sandal is the perfect hot pink, not too bright where it's tacky, but bright enough to turn heads.

Timeless feminine bridal heel

As a business owner I love supporting other small business owners, especially when their priorities align with mine. Humans we love by Brooklyn is a small business that specializes in ethical products.

The FRIDA heel (USD $455) in Champagne Blush Satin is a timeless piece that can be with you for decades and is the perfect girly touch for a bridesmaid shoe.

Neutral bridesmaid heel

27 EDIT ABILYN PUMP by Naturalizer (USD$170) is another great bridesmaid shoe. The simple curved strap adds a simple touch to the leg. The back closure keeps your foot and shoe in place so you can celebrate the bride all night. The full leather insole provides comfort for your feet so your shoes don’t slow you down.

Shoes for wedding guests

Being a wedding guest means you were hand chosen to ring in a new chapter with a couple. It is a huge honor and I want you to feel and look your best while you celebrate all night long.

The Beach Wedding

Beach weddings are fun and the perfect summer way to tie the knot. For beach wedding shoes I highly recommend a flat wedding sandal or a chunky heel so you are not sinking in the sand.

You’ll also want a shoe that is easy to slide on and off if you want to run into the water to celebrate the night (I mean you don’t need to do this but that sounds fun!)

Silver low closed-toe chunky flats with a curved ankle strap.

The bank pointed toe flat (USD $150) by Naturalizer is a lightweight, chunky heel option that is great for taking on a beach wedding. The strap will help keep your feet in place and the neutral color palette means you can pick your most summery and colorful dress.

Wedding flats for the beach—by color 🎨

I put a lot of care into each color and that is because I want you to find your perfect color to match your perfect outfit.

Let's go through all the colors I haven't mentioned so you can find your perfect wedding shoe!

1. Black and white

Woman posing in front of an art wall with her leg up showing off, her black and white moonlight Womads. Woman is wearing a loose fitted white blouse and black trousers paired with a green handbag.

One of your two toned neutrals is the Womads shade Moonlight. The two tone neutral is a great way to add more dimension to your look. A great option for a wedding guest flat.

2. Yellow

Sunshine Yellow Womads are a great wedding guest flat option to add warmth to your outfit, especially for a beach wedding shoe! These would pair great with any cool tones such as a silver satin dress.

3. Orange

Tiger Orange Womads are fierce and are great if you have a colorful dress with a bit of orange.

4. Pink

Women in formal black dress in the garden wearing bright pink Womads and posing with her left hand in the air and right hand on her hips.

Royal Fuschia Womads are the perfect deep pink. These pink beauties would pair beautifully with a baby blue dress or a neutral option.

5. Caramel

Caramel Womads are the best of both worlds. They offer a pop of color while still having a neutral feel.

6. Red

Let’s not forget about a classic red sandal.

The Womads Imperial red is hands down your perfect red shade, not too bright and not too deep, in my opinion, a true red.

7. Gray

The dove gray Womads color is a beautiful off white shade that just screams love and new beginnings.
