When being Subtle Isn't the Goal

Neon green doesn't blend in, it will always be a color that gets noticed.

When I was developing our Fluo Green collection, I knew it would appeal to some—but for it to become one of our top colors? That wasn't something I predicted, but it's something I absolutely love.

With green, especially a neon green, we aren't toning down our looks, we're styling with intention.

Let's break down my favorite ways to style green, especially as spring is on the horizon and we're all craving color after months of winter neutrals.

Why Neon Green Works (But Only When You Let It)

The Psychology of Bright Green

Neon green is energizing, unexpected, impossible to ignore.

It signals confidence, the absolute loudest kind of confidence.

There's actual psychology behind this. Bright, saturated colors like neon green activate the part of our brain associated with attention and alertness. When someone sees neon green, their brain registers it immediately.

I remember the first time I wore our Fluo Green peep toes out. People noticed and a few stopped me to ask where I got them, for me that's the ultimate compliment , not only did they love the shoes, they loved how I styled them and they were like I can pull that off too.

What to pair with neon green sandals.

Here's what surprises people: neon green is shockingly versatile.

It works with colors such as pink and purple and also of course works with neutrals.

Most people assume a color this bright is limiting. They think, "I could never wear that, I don't have anything that goes with it." But the opposite is true. Neon green is a neutral's best friend.

It's what makes a simple outfit interesting with just one thing, your shoes or your bag.

Think about your closet right now. How much of it is black, white, gray, denim, tan? If you're like most people, that's at least 70% of your wardrobe. All of those pieces work with neon green.

The trick is understanding that neon green doesn't need to "match" your outfit in the traditional sense. It needs to complement it. And bright colors complement neutrals beautifully because they provide contrast, which is what makes an outfit visually interesting.

How to Wear Neon Green

Neon Green + Denim: The Easiest Entry Point

If you’re new to bold color, start here.

Denim grounds neon. It softens it and makes it wearable for everyday  without losing the impact.

Jeans and a white tee with Fluo Green peep toes is the perfect easy everyday outfit.

Light wash denim feels fresh and spring-ready. The faded blue balances the brightness and keeps the look relaxed.

Dark denim or black denim sharpens everything. The contrast makes the green glow even more — especially with a clean silhouette.

A few styling notes:

  • Crop or cuff your jeans so the shoes are fully visible
  • Keep your top simple (white, cream, black)
  • Let the green be the only loud thing

Denim has this magic quality — it makes bold feel effortless. You’re not trying too hard. You’re just wearing it well.

Neon Green + Color

Yes, neon absolutely works with other brights.

Pink. Purple. Fuchsia. And even bold prints.

But this is where intention matters.

When you pair neon green with another strong color, you’re creating a color story — not just adding a pop. It's all about combination, they need to work together or else everything will clash.

If you wear a bold patterned blouse with neon shoes:

  • Skip heavy jewelry
  • Keep your bag simple
  • Let the colors do the talking

If you carry a Fluo Green crossbody with a bright dress:

  • Choose neutral shoes
  • Keep hair and accessories minimal
  • Don’t add a third competing color

Neon doesn’t disappear next to another bold shade — it holds its own.
But the styling has to feel deliberate, not accidental.

The Investment:

Neon green isn't a trend piece for us.

We didn't create Fluo Green as a seasonal trend that would be gone in six months. We created it as a bold, confident addition to our permanent design philosophy.

If you follow our leather care blog you will also be able to keep these for…..well basically forever.

These pieces are meant to be with you for years, not one season.

Wear It Like You Mean It

Neon green isn't for blending in. It's for standing out.

It's for the days when you want to be bold, when you're done playing small, when your outfit needs to match your energy.

At Womads, our Fluo Green collection is one of our top sellers, clearly suggesting the world has had enough beige.

One neon moment per outfit. Build around it. Own it. Don't apologize.

The world doesn't need more neutral, safe, forgettable outfits. It needs color. It needs confidence. It needs you showing up as your boldest self.
