💃 The Best Comfortable Dancing Shoes for Women: The Top ten picks for Weddings, Date nights or a girl’s night out.
Dancing is one of my absolute favorite hobbies—and no, it’s not like I do it professionally. I’m talking about social dancing Thursday nights at Salsa clubs, or whenever I'm out with friends and there's music. I'm one of those people who can't keep from moving if there's good music on, and it immediately puts me in the best mood!
When I was looking for shoes to go out dancing, I found tons of blogs targeting professional dancers. And I remember thinking, “Okay, fancy ballroom dancing heels with suede soles are beautiful… but I need a pair I can use in the street and then dance all night in without fearing for my ankles!”
Whenever I spot a gap like that, I feel compelled to do something about it. That’s how Womads started. I couldn’t find a flexible, lightweight, high-quality shoe—so I made one. And guess what? I made it great for dancing.
So, for all my girls who love to dance and need the best shoes to keep your feet happy and moving all night long, here’s a list of my top ten favorites—perfect for social dancing, weddings, parties, date nights, and everything in between.
1. Womads Peep Toe Flats
The Womads Peep Toe Flats are, in my opinion, the perfect comfortable dancing shoes. They’re light, flexible, and breathable—everything you need to move freely without sacrificing style.
They are designed to let your foot move naturally without restricting it, and the side elastic straps keep the heel hugging your foot securely through every dance move all night long. I love the look of leather and Womads is made with high quality soft leather that molds to your feet the more you wear them.
Bonus: they’re handmade sustainably and support reforestation projects in Colombia, so basically they can’t get better. Unless you love beautiful vivid colors, then they can get better because we have a wide range of colors available.
Top Pick: Womads Peep Toe in Red
2. Womads Oxfords
The peep toes are absolutely perfect for spring/summer, outdoor events or if you live somewhere warm. But for my gals who are going out after the office or live in a cooler climate, I got you covered with the Womads Oxfords.
They are closed-toe, supportive, and flexible, all great features for a comfortable dancing shoe. During our launch party we had a Salsa dance performance and lesson and many of the women there did the lesson with their Womads, and they looked amazing!
As you can see, these babies were approved by the professionals!
Top Pick: Womads Oxfords in Golden Nectar
3. The Classic Ballet Flat
Even if you are not a Ballet Dancer, ballet flats are a beautiful and simple silhouette to add to your shoe collection. They are timeless and never go out of style so they are a comfortable dancing shoe while also being a great versatile shoe. To find the perfect flat for dancing look for one with a padded insole and a slight heel for added support (trust me—your feet will thank you).

They're easy to pack in your purse as a backup if you're starting the night in heels, too. I also love ballet flats because they are breathable. Ballet flats are also similar to Womads as they support your natural foot movement, allowing you to move through the dance floor with ease.
Top Pick: Everlance Day Glove Flat.
4. Chunky Low Heels
A chunky heel offers height with more stability that a taller heel. Chunky heels can be great to dance in if you are comfortable and love the look of heels. They are great for weddings or for heading to a dance club on date night.
A couple things to look for of course are the padded footbed and ankle strap—these will give you a boost while keeping your foot stable and secure.
Favorite pick: Naturalizer Vera Sandal
5. Block Heel Sandals
These open-toe sandals are the perfect hybrid between elegant and comfortable. A medium-height block heel offers balance, and the open design keeps things breathable for long nights.
I am a sucker for simple feminine details. The Sam Edelman Daniella Sandal has a cute little charm that I just know will make you feel so girlie. Little additions like that on girls night or date night can honestly just make my whole mood, does anyone else feel like that? It really is the simple thing for me.
Favorite pick: Sam Edelman Daniella Sandal
6. Sustainable Knit Flats
Flats made from recycled knit material are lightweight, flexible, and breathable—aka everything you want for a night out. When designing Womads sustainability was a non-negotiable they had to be made well and be good for the earth. I reference Rothy’s in a few other blogs because they are sustainable, comfortable and also tend to have stretch, which is great for changing climates. If your feet tend to swell a bit in the warmer weather, these are great for giving you extra breathability and flexibility.
That way you can have a good dancing shoe for summer and winter weddings.
Favorite pick: Rothy’s Pointed Toe Flat
7. Strappy Kitten Heels
I love kitten heels, I think the silhouette is so feminine and can dress up just about any look. These are great for a girls night if you’re hitting dinner then dancing, or for being a wedding guest. A low, elegant heel with straps that actually stay on your feet? Yes please.

Kitten heels are a sleek option for more formal events where you want a little lift without sacrificing comfort. They are a great option for dancing because of their support and I am a firm believer that if you look good, you’ll start to feel good too.
Favorite pick: Dalary SlingBack Pumpl
8. Ankle-Strap Dress Flats
Dressy, feminine, and a great contender for a comfortable dance shoe. Choosing ankle dress flats with a strap gives you both style and stability, both are great for nights of dancing.

When it comes to flats you want to look for something unstructured for dancing. Choosing an unstructured shoe helps support the natural movement of your foot. Making it easy to dance in but also helps preserve the health of your foot.
Favorite pick: The Crosby Sling
9. Heeled Mules
If you want to dip into the world of heels without going all the way, mules with a low block heel are a comfy, stylish compromise. Just make sure you get a pair with a soft lining to avoid any rubbing.
Favorite pick: Vince Camuto Anges Mule
10. Statement Shoes That Spark Joy
Okay, this one is a wildcard—but if there’s a pair of shoes in your closet that you just love and they make you want to dance? Wear them.
Dancing is meant to be joyful and free so grab something out of the box maybe shiny, maybe neon. If there is a shoe that speaks to you and has great qualities of a dance shoe, pick it up and see how you feel turning heads and just being you.
